Your DIY Essence Henna Lip Ritual

Follow this protocol to achieve essence beauty at home

  • • Lactic acid-based milk or toner
    • Essence Lips Tint
    • Clean applicator or microbrush
    • Cotton pad
    • Lip balm

  • Gently exfoliate using a lip scrub or soft toothbrush to remove dead skin.

  • After exfoliation, apply a toner or cleansing milk with lactic acid or similar ingredients to help degrease the skin and improve tint absorption.

  • Clean and fully dry your lips before applying the tint. Do not apply lip balm at this stage.

  • Spread a thin, even coat of the tint. Leave on for 5–10 minutes, then rinse off gently with water.

  • Apply a second layer. For more intensity, wait 5 minutes and repeat with a third thin layer. The colour will build with each application.

  • Once desired colour is achieved and lips are dry, apply a nourishing lip balm to lock in moisture and protect the colour.

  • • Always perform a patch test 24h before use (e.g. on inner arm or behind ear).
    • Not suitable for people with plant extract allergies or hypersensitive skin.
    • Avoid drinking, eating or talking during the drying process.
    • Do not use on injured or chapped lips.
    • For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
    • Store in a cool, dry place. Keep away from children.

  • After applying the henna, you may feel a slight tingling sensation on your lips – this is completely normal.
    It’s not an allergic reaction, but a natural effect of the plant-based extracts activating on the skin.

  • • This product is free from PPD (p-phenylenediamine) – making it a gentler, safer choice for your skin.
    • We always recommend doing a patch test on your inner arm before first use, just to rule out any personal sensitivity to the natural extracts.
    • Avoid contact with the eyes and do not apply on broken or irritated skin.

  • A natural colouring ingredient that gives the lips a light pink to red tone. Hibiscus helps moisturise and protect the lips from drying out thanks to its high content of antioxidants and fruit acids.

  • A traditional Ayurvedic herb used for its rich red pigment and anti-inflammatory properties. Supports skin regeneration and enhances colour depth.

  • Provides a mild exfoliating effect and is a source of natural sugars and antioxidants. Supports hydration and smoothness of the lips.

  • A gentle emulsifier that allows oils and water to mix. It helps create a smooth, consistent texture and improves stability of the formula.

  • A skin-safe preservative used to protect the formula against bacteria and mold. Keeps the product fresh and safe for longer use.

  • A natural humectant that draws moisture into the lips. Keeps them hydrated, soft and protected during and after tinting.
